Patients on Olmesartan should avoid drugs that can increase the risk of kidney damage or elevated potassium levels such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, potassium supplements and potassium sparing diuretics. It is also advised that patients take caution in consuming alcohol and medications that lower blood pressure such as ACE inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers, as these may increase the risk of side effects.
