The typical dosage of Plaquenil for the prevention of malaria is take 1 pill once a week for two weeks prior to entering any country where malaria is prevalent. Once in the country, take Plaquenil once a week, and continue for 4-8 weeks when you return home. Your doctor will then decide the dosage if you have malaria.
