Commonly reported side effects from a Monovisc injection are joint pain (arthalgia), joint swelling and pain at the site of injection. Other side effects, although less common, include joint stiffness, baker’s cyst (cyst behind the knee), small lump under the skin, rash, headache, dizziness, chills, hives, itching, nausea, swelling in the extremities, muscle cramps, and malaise.
