Patients who just received an injection of Synvisc One must return home and avoid any strenuous activities such as jogging, lifting heavy items, high impact sports or standing for long periods of time for 48 hours to ensure the medication works effectively and to reduce the risk of complications. Apply ice to the knee for ten minutes as needed if you experience any pain or swelling after receiving an injection. If the pain or swelling worsens, call your doctor.
