Invokana is a prescription medication that adults over the age of 18 can use to manage type 2 diabetes; it cannot be used by patients with type 1 diabetes. It should not be used by people with diabetic ketoacidosis and severe kidney problems. Lastly, those who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding cannot take Invokana.
