Viagra should not be taken by people who are taking nitrate drugs for heart problems and chest pain, and those taking amyl nitrite and butyl nitrite, more commonly known as the recreational drug called “poppers”. People with heart disease, low blood pressure and retinitis pigmentosa are typically contraindicated to take this medication. Lastly, patients are also cautioned to check the active and inactive ingredients of Viagra as some may cause an allergic reaction in some people.
